A prestigious international law firm is seeking a motivated and talented Newly Qualified Pensions Solicitor to join its thriving team in Manchester. Our client is a leading provider of legal services, which prides itself on delivering exceptional client-focused solutions and is looking for an individual who shares its commitment to excellence.
As a Newly Qualified Pensions Solicitor, you will have the opportunity to work within a highly regarded Pensions team, comprising of experienced lawyers and industry specialists. You will play a vital role in providing comprehensive legal advice and support to a diverse range of clients, including employers, trustees, and pension scheme service providers.
Responsibilities:
- Legal Advisory: Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of pension-related matters, including scheme establishment, amendments, closures, and winding-up
- Compliance and Regulation: Stay abreast of the latest pension legislation, regulations, and industry developments, ensuring that clients remain compliant and well-informed. Advise clients on the impact of regulatory changes and assist with implementing necessary measures
- Documentation and Contractual Support: Prepare, review, and negotiate pension scheme documentation, including scheme rules, trust deeds, and member communications. Provide support in drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, and other legal documents relating to pension schemes
- Transactional Support: Collaborate with colleagues across different practice areas to provide legal support on pension-related aspects of corporate transactions, mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings
- Dispute Resolution: Assist with resolving pension-related disputes, including negotiations, alternative dispute resolution methods, and court proceedings when required
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, attending meetings, providing regular updates, and ensuring excellent client service delivery
- Professional Development: Stay up to date with legal developments, industry trends, and best practices through continuous professional development. Engage in internal knowledge-sharing initiatives and actively contribute to the growth and success of the Pensions team
Qualifications and Skills:
- Soon to be Newly qualified solicitor admitted to the Law Society of England and Wales
- Strong academic background, with a minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree in Law (or equivalent)
- Completion of a recognised Legal Practice Course (LPC)
- Prior experience or a keen interest in pensions law during training contract or through additional relevant experience
- Excellent analytical, research, and drafting skills
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle complex legal matters
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues at all levels
- A proactive and commercial approach to problem-solving
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure
- A genuine interest in developing a successful career within the field of pensions law
