An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Practice Manager to join a well-established law firm based in London. The role will be working from home 4 days a week with the requirement to go into the office 1 day per week, however this is flexible. The firm is offering a competitive salary banding and excellent benefits package.
You will be required to have senior management level experience, experience of working within a Legal Aid Law Firm with understanding of the Standard Civil Contract and Standard Crime Contract. An understanding of law firm operations and the compliance framework and knowledge of solicitors’ accounts and financial operations is required.
As a Legal Practice Manager within the firm, you will support the business in ensuring best practice and compliance with all regulatory bodies. Contributing to the development and implementation of policies and practices.
Responsibility for the business’s SRA and Legal Aid compliant policies and procedures
Ensuring the business maintains and meets the requirements of SQM
Ensuring the business remains compliant with the requirements of both the Standard Civil Contract and Standard Crime Contract (Legal Aid Contracts)
Being a key point of contact for the SRA and the Legal Aid Agency
Ensuring compliance with other regulatory and statutory requirements including registration with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)
Continually reviewing the Office Manual and compliance with these policies
Coordinating all departments for successful audits e.g. Legal Aid, SRA
Ensuring changes in law and practice are communicated to the practicing members of the business Risk and Information Management
Ensuring risk management, audit and monitoring functions highlight poor practice and rapidly assessing how these can be remedied
Promoting and fostering a culture of consistent focus on quality, client care, risk management
Investigating and responding to complaints in line with the office manual procedure
Investigating and responding to breaches in line with the office manual procedure and GDPR
Ensuring that digital and paper records are stored securely and archived as appropriate
Coordinating and managing business continuity plans Administration
The system administration of Legal Aid online services (e.g. CCMS)
