A progressive and forward-thinking law firm in Stockport, South Manchester is seeking an experienced financial mis-selling solicitor (5+ years' PQE) as part of ongoing expansion.
You will be joining an established team as a senior financial litigation/financial mis-selling solicitor, where you will handle your own busy and dynamic caseload of litigated matters including professional negligence and contractual matters relating to financial services, together with support in other areas of claimant representation. You must be a strong litigator and be familiar with statutory legislation, CPR and the relevant case law.
You must be a qualified financial mis-selling solicitor with a minimum of 5 years' PQE in a similar role either gained in-house in a financial institution or within private practice (likely gained in a medium or large firm, both claimant and defendant considered). You will have a solid understanding of financial services including professional negligence, consumer credit and contracts.
In addition, you will be familiar with regulatory rules such as MCOB (under FCA AND FSA) and the governing statutory basis for pursuing claims under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (FSMA).
You will have knowledge of the Dispute Resolution (DISP) Rules and processes as well as experience of submitting complaints to the Financial Ombudsman. Finally, supervisory/managerial experience would be highly desirable.
On offer is an attractive salary up to c£65,000 (negotiable, depending on experience) plus benefits package.
