Due to continued growth, this well-established firm in Manchester is looking to recruit a senior employment solicitor (5+ years' PQE) to head up a new department.
As the Head of Employment, you'll grow, lead and develop a new Employment Team alongside handling a range of both claimant and respondent matters. The firm already has a flow of quality instructions and is keen to hire an employment solicitor with a track record in marketing/developing new business.
As the Employment Solicitor, you will also have exposure to management of employment litigation including unfair dismissal, discrimination and restrictive covenants. You will be advising on all aspects of TUPE, redundancy and reorganisation including consultation processes, risk areas, varying terms and conditions and also advising on settlement agreements.
You must be a qualified employment solicitor with likely 5+ years' PQE. Supervisory experience would be a distinct advantage, although not essential. Due to the nature of the role, you'll be commercially minded and have leadership qualities.
You will have an in-depth understanding of all areas of employment law including reviewing and amending employment contracts and consultancy contracts, reviewing HR policies and staff handbooks, advising on HR matters including performance management, absence management, disciplinary processes, grievance processes and procedures, equality act matters, and anti-compete issues.
