This is an opportunity for an ambitious lawyer, looking to pursue a career in personal tax and trusts, working closely with the Private Client Department.
The successful private client solicitor will join one of the top ranked offshore personal tax and trust teams located in Jersey, Channel Islands.
The Personal Tax & Trust Group consists of four partners and sixteen other lawyers/advisers and is highly rated in both Chambers and Partners and the Legal 500. Many of the partners and solicitors in the Group are lawyers recommended as leaders in their field.
Due to the expansion of the Group and increased workloads, there is an opportunity for a junior lawyer to join the Group. Your caseload will be diverse and include a mix of:
- Offshore trusts and companies
- Tax planning through wills and trusts, including international/cross border estate planning
- All aspects of inheritance tax, capital gains tax, and income tax as they apply to individuals and trusts
- Probate and administration of estates and trusts
- Powers of Attorney.
To be successful with your application for this opportunity, you must have high academic results, previous experience within a major City or leading national/regional practice (around NQ - 4 PQE) and a solid technical grounding in private client, particularly trusts & wills.
Prior exposure to all the areas outlined above would be preferred but not essential for the correct candidate.
