My client is a national law practice of around 900 employees operating from multiple offices across the UK. They are a full-service law firm and are currently looking for a solicitor/FCILEx to join the Employment team based in their Leeds office.
The purpose of the role is to run a caseload of legal expense insurer files, as well as assisting with non-contentious work from time to time. There may be scope for the supervision of junior case handlers.
Experience of working in the employment field is essential. The work is challenging but rewarding and the team places a high value on mutual support and co-operation.
For this employment solicitor role, duties will include but not be limited to:
- Advising clients on potential Employment Tribunal claims;
- Running a caseload of Employment Tribunal claims including drafting pleadings, drafting witness statements, negotiating settlements, and instructing counsel or advocates as necessary;
- Complying with insurer service level agreements;
- Supporting the Employment team with non-contentious work including the provision of contractual documentation, handbooks and other employment documentation, together with the provision of reactive and proactive employment advice to commercial clients, including telephone advice.
The successful employment solicitor will have a passion for employment law and for providing commercial and practical solutions.
You may be a fully qualified solicitor, barrister, FCILEx or fee earner with equivalent experience.
