Earth Day – Can we all please help?

Sunday 22 April 2018 is “Earth Day”. But it’s not just about taking action on one day, and it’s not just about reducing plastic consumption. We can all help to make the environment a better place, save critical resources and reduce pollution by making small changes at home and at work.

At G2 Legal, we like to try and do our bit. We recognise that we have a responsibility to the environment beyond legal and regulatory requirements. We are not exactly saving the planet single-handedly in taking the measures we do internally, but we like to think we are at least helping where we can.

Within our offices, we endeavour to reduce the amount of energy we use as much as possible, for example: where practical, we have motion-sensor lighting installed; heating and air conditioning is programmed for operation during working hours only; printers are set to sleep mode after 60 seconds to reduce CO2 emissions, and we have switched to power-saving computers.

Paper and office supplies are minimised; we do not use plastic cups; our used printer cartridges and computer equipment are all recycled; we aim to operate in a paper-free environment and any paper that is used, or cardboard boxes from deliveries, are also shredded (for sensitive and confidential materials) or recycled.

Our policies on energy, power and consumables are under constant review and we are proud to receive an annual certificate from our Recycling Suppliers providing us with our stats as to how much waste has been recycled.

For us, Earth Day is Every Day.
