Don't let your job search get you down.

Remember it’s a marathon, not a sprint.

The legal job search can be a daunting process. You may have to deal with with rejection or the lack of suitable opportunities in the market and it can feel like blow after blow, but it isn’t all doom and gloom!

Here are some simple tips to help you to roll with the punches until you find that dream opportunity.

Didn’t get the job? – Remember this isn’t personal

With each near miss, you will learn more about how you interview and come across and through reflecting on feedback you can improve your future performances. You must also remember that none of this is personal. Although you may not be right for a particular role, meeting with an organisation and performing well will keep you in their minds for future opportunities.

Positive mindset

Staying positive and understanding at the outset that the perfect role takes time to find, is key to managing expectation and limiting disappointment. Don’t give up. You miss 100% of the shots that you don’t take.

Keep a schedule – maintaining your job search

Keeping a schedule to follow for your job search, for example setting time aside to speak to your area’s specialised G2 Legal recruiter on a regular basis, can be the key to turning around your fortunes. Having consistent contact with our recruiters who know the market inside out, provides a magnitude of opportunities that can speed the process up!
